BiRD - Bioinformatics Hub

Bringing together research laboratories in Biology-Health and Digital Sciences in Nantes, the BiRD platform acts as a Bioinformatics Hub.  BiRD supports life scientists in managing, integrating, analyzing and modeling experimental data by providing a large scale storage and computing infrastructure as well as computational tools, workflows, and training.

BiRD collaborates with key national and international research bioinformatics infrastructure stakeholders. It is a member of the SFR Bonamy, Biogenouest, and the French Institute of Bioinformatics (IFB).

By pooling human resources, expertise, software resources and datasets, BiRD aims to :

1. strengthen and perpetuate laboratory expertise in bioanalysis
2. facilitate the analysis, access and reuse of large volumes of heterogeneous data
3. make the methods developed by partner research teams operational and accessible on a large scale
4. contribute to training in the life sciences and digital technology.
